4 Cocktails to Show Amy Schumer that Reno Isn’t a Dump
Emily Maitlis from BBC newsnight got to meet Amy Schumer and well Amy, we think that your answer is incorrect.
Emily: “What’s the worst place you can ever imagine being for a weekend?”
Amy: “Reno, Nev-AH-da.”
Emily: “Any reason?”
Amy: “It’s a dump.”
First off its Nev-AD-a, not Nev-AH-da, so now if you want to talk trash or if you ever take the Reno Gazette-Journal up on their offer of a personal tour we want to make sure that you know how to say the state correctly.
Second, we wanted to make sure you know of some the Reno highlights so we picked some cocktails that we believe best represents them.
Reno Arch-Strawberry Daiquiri
Ingredients:
4 oz. Strawberry cocktail mix
1.5 oz. Vodka
1 cup Ice
Whipped cream
Method:
Blend together the strawberry cocktail mix, vodka and ice. Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream, serve and enjoy!
University of Nevada, Reno-Wolf Bite
Ingredients:
1 oz Spiced rum
1 oz Light rum
½ oz Blue Curacao
1.5 oz Sweet and Sour
2 oz Sprite
¼ oz Grenadine
Ice
Method:
Fill a glass with ice add all ingredients except the grenadine and mix. Drop the grenadine to the top as a floater, garnish with a cherry and enjoy!
Truckee River-Blue Lagoon
Ingredients:
4 oz Lemonade
1.5 oz Vodka
1 oz Blue Curacao
Ice
Method:
Mix together all the ingredients in a shaker. Pour, garnish with a lemon wedge, serve and enjoy!
National Bowling Stadium -Piña Colada
Ingredients:
2 oz Piña Colada Mix
2/3 oz Grenadine
1.5 oz White Rum
Ice
Method:
Blend together the Piña Colada mix, rum and ice. Split the blend so that you have majority in a cup and two small parts in mixing bowls. Mix in the grenadine with one small part, pour the half of the red mixture on top of the blend in the cup, and then add the non-mixed white on top of the red, followed by the rest of the red mixture and then the rest of the white mixture. Garnish with strawberries, serve and enjoy!
Even though you think Reno is a dump, we still love you Amy!
