5 drinks to mourn Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show
It’s an unfortunate day for most Jon Stewart fans, and many may be having a hard time coping now that his reign is over at The Daily Show. But there will always be the reruns, and for all those re-runners out there, here are five drinks you can have that will cheer you up over this television loss.
The Whack in the Head
Apparently, before Jon Stewart was a Comedy Central staple, he was a bartender, and believe it or not, he invented his own drink. Here is the recipe for Jon Stewarts made up drink. See below for the Mt Rose Version
- 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce tequila
- 1/2 ounce light rum
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce Southern Comfort
- 1/2 ounce amaretto liqueur
- 1/2 ounce orange juice
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 tsp. superfine sugar
- 1 dash grenadine syrup
- 1/2 cup cold Coca Cola, or to taste
Mt Rose Version
- 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce tequila
- 1/2 ounce light rum
- 1/2 ounce Mt Rose triple sec
- 1/2 ounce Southern Comfort
- 1/2 ounce amaretto liqueur
- 1/2 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce Mt Rose Sweet and Sour
- 1 dash grenadine syrup
- 1/2 cup cold Coca Cola, or to taste
Bloody Mary
Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show might be considered close to a hang over, and like all hangovers, they can be cured with a good old fashioned Bloody Mary.
- 4 ounces Mt Rose Bloody Mary Mix
- 2 ounces Vodka
- Tabasco optional
Earl Grey Martini
So that your own snarky jokes about politics can carry just a little more added sophistication.
- Begin by putting 4 earl grey tea bags into your choice of 2 ounces vodka or gin and let sit for 1 hour
- Add 2 ounces Mt Rose Simple Syrup
- Add 2 ounces lemon juice
- Shake with ice and strain into a glass
Dirty Martini
Almost as dry as parts of Jon’s humor.
- 2 ounces dry vermouth
- 2 ounces olive brine
- 2 ounces vodka or gin
Kamikaze Shot
For the jokes that might go down a little rough.
- 1.5 ounces vodka
- .75 ounces Mt Rose Triple Sec
- .75 ounces lime juice
- Pour into two shot glasses and enjoy
