Bring Out Your Inner Scientist with Molecular Mixology
Mt Rose Drinks is participating in Yelpstronomy tonight at the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Staring at 6 p.m. we will be serving up our cotton candy cocktails to guests so they can experience what we put together to show molecular mixology. We will also be giving away a drink wild hat to the first five people to come by and try! At Yelpstronomy we will see other molecular mixology that are cocktails, food, brews and more! Since some of you aren’t going to be able to make it to the event we have put together a list of all of the different cocktail molecular mixology you can try at home.
Cocktail Rock Candy:
Everyone loved rock candy as a kid and they probably still would if they weren’t so sugary. Make rock candy at home out of your favorite cocktails.
Ice Shells:
Ice seems to always melt and water down cocktails. Making ice shells is half of the amount of water and looks amazing while it melts.
Caramelized Cocktails:
Like Crème Brulee you can caramelize the tops of your favorite cocktails so they have a hard candy top to break.
Inside Out Cocktails:
Like the ice shells, you can keep your drinks from watering down by freezing your cocktail mix and then adding alcohol to you mix ice cubes. As the “ice” melts your cocktail forms cold.
Cotton Candy:
Adding a cocktail to cotton candy makes the sugar disintegrate into your drink.
Cocktail Caviar:
No we aren’t adding squid to your cocktails, instead add small jelly like spheres of your cocktail to a glass of champagne.
Syringe Shots:
Infuse your favorite fruit with a shot of a cocktail using a syringe.
Foam Topped Cocktails:
You can top your favorite cocktails with a homemade foam that is made from your cocktail too.
Dry Ice Mixing:
Mixing your cocktails in dry ice makes them freeze into the perfect slushy.
