History and Cocktails for Talk Like a Pirate Day
History
One of the less well known international holidays is “talk like a pirate day” which takes place every year on September 19th. According to History, it started in 1995 in Oregon with a game of racquetball between two friends. One friend was hurt and yelled out “aarr” in pain and the joke began. While the game took place in June, they choose the birthday of an ex-wife so it would be easy to remember.
To help celebrate this holiday Mt Rose Drinks put together some cocktails to being out your inner pirate.
