Tips and Tricks for Drinking at the Beach
One of the best parts of living in Reno in the summer is the fact that the beautiful beaches of Tahoe are only 45 minutes away. When spending a day or weekend at the beach many times a cocktail sounds great. The problem is that glass isn’t allowed on the beaches. We have put together a list of tips and tricks to make it so you can have a cocktail on your next beach adventure.
- Pour whatever is in a glass bottle into an empty water bottle and make sure that you label it
- Premix you cocktails and have them in a plastic container that is easy to pour out of
- Take tumblers or other cups with lids
- Take a drag bag, or any bag that completely closes, to put your mix bottles into that you can put into the water to keep cold
- Put the ice your going to use in a bag and the rest free in the cooler so that you don’t get sand in your drinks
- Freeze your mix the night before so that it stays cool all day
- Pick a cocktail that is also hydrating
- Don’t mix too many alcohols
- While packing your cooler take more than you think you’ll need that way you don’t have to leave early to get more
- Take food that goes well with what you are drinking
